The “Zemgale” / LLU team will host the “Olimp” / “Venta 2002” team in the first game of the “Optibet” Hockey League (OHL) final series today.

The first game of the series in Jelgava Ice Hall will start at 19.40.
Jelgavnieki was 4-2 ahead of “Liepāja” in the semi-final series, but “Olimp” / “Venta 2002” was 4-2 ahead of the main tournament winners “Mogo” / LSPA hockey players.
This season the teams have met six times, five of which won Zemgale / LLU, finishing three of the matches with at least three goals. The units of the regular championship ended with a mutual game, in which “Zemgale” / LLU hockey players were 4: 1 superior.
In the “Play-off” tournament, the three most successful players are from the Jelgava team. In the playoffs, Edgards Kulda has the highest score so far with six points (2 + 4), followed by Klāvs Veinbergs with three goals and two assists and Patrick Ozols with two goals and three assists. Miķelis Rēdlihs has scored in the ranks of “Olimp” / “Venta 2002” with two goals and three assists.
In the main tournament “Zemgale” / LLU took the second place with 61 points in 36 games, but “Olimp” / “Venta 2002” took the fourth place with 45 points.
The OHL “play-offs” included the top four teams in the tournament. For the remaining three units – Hockey School “Riga”, Daugavpils “Dinaburga” and Riga “Prizma” – the season ended after the main tournament.
Last season, the OHL winners’ cup was won by Olimp / Venta 2002, which won the Zemgale / LLU unit 4-0 in the final series.
