A new generation at the Roquefort-des-Corbières archery club

The 12th general meeting of Arc en Roque, on May 21 in the Dans’Arc room, experienced moments rich in emotion.

Under the leadership of Bernard Lefèvre, everyone’s progress was rapid and spectacular, forcing the coach to rethink the equipment and its maintenance for everyone’s satisfaction during training.

The traditional Tir du Roy saw Emma Dubray and Bruno Girlando conquer the titles of Roitelet and Roy for 2022, thus completing the events of the season.

The financial report was marked by numerous repairs and adaptations of equipment, offset by the large amount of contributions, municipal subsidies and summer events, to end with a balanced budget.

The current president, Bernard Lefevre, then presented the various candidates for the board of directors, with an innovative action that the president asked the assembly to adopt: allowing two representatives of young archers to participate in the board, in an advisory capacity.

Bernard announced that he was leaving his place to a young and willing team to bring new blood to the club, ideas and suggestions for the future, allowing Bernard to confine himself to his role as initiation and development coach. training of archers. In addition to André Rousmans, non-outgoing member, the meeting unanimously elected directors Bruno Girlando (president), Cécile Gendry (secretary), Stéphane Dubray (treasurer), as well as Emma Dubray and Noah Fontaine for the youth.

In order to thank all the archers, a trophy symbolizing their dedication, tenacity and patience was given to them by Michèle Dolléans with a little word of encouragement for each one.

Then Bernard, founder of the association, evoked these 12 years when he saw many heads pass by from Roquefort-des-Corbières but also from the whole region, from Lézignan to Fitou, not to mention the incalculable number of occasional archers on vacation, the proud to have been able to develop the practice of a sport within everyone’s reach, with the confident and constant support of the municipality with Michèle Dolléans and Christian Théron, to whom he presented a club trophy.

To Mr. Théron, he also offered a photo representing him with Michel Py and Didier Codorniou in the middle of a shooting exercise during the inauguration of the Dans’Arc room in April 2012.
