Twenty young people from the chick to junior categories, including three SLO Bettancourt graduates, took part, from Friday 22 to Sunday 24 April, in a Grand Est regional advanced course, near the Ufolep center in Giffaumont.
This course was led by Robert Bischoff, regional technical advisor, Jennifer François, member of the regional technical team, and Jean Bernard, head of the youth sports commission. Three Bettancourtois were present, namely Henri Méry (chicks), Maxime Block (minimes) and Giulia Vallelian (juniors). For young people, it was a preparation for long distance shooting outdoors, at 20 meters for the little ones, and 70 meters for the older ones. The competitions will begin in May. “In terms of content, we also did muscle building, checking equipment and we worked on the mind and group cohesion,” said Jennifer François. The weather conditions, with wind and rain, also allowed the archers to test themselves. “On the day of the competition, they won’t have a choice, even if it rains,” commented Jennifer François.
