Summary
The Laval Rocket were unable to secure their place in the American Hockey League North Division Finals, losing 3-0 in Game 4 of their series to Syracuse Crunch at Place Bell, Saturday.
The fifth and decisive duel will take place next Tuesday in Syracuse.
The Crunch took the lead after just 5:35 of play. Anthony Richard rounded the net from behind, then handed the puck to Cole Koepke, who beat Cayden Primeau into a gaping opening to his right.
Halfway through the engagement, Crunch goalkeeper Maxime Lagacé had to make way for Hugo Alnefelt after injuring his leg. The incident happened when Gabriel Dumont pushed Alex Belzile onto his own keeper.
In the second period, Nate Schnarr had to retreat to the Rocket locker room after being hit hard and sandwiched between two opposing players. However, he returned to action a few minutes later.
Remi Elie made it 2-0 in the third period on the power play, on assists from Alex Barré-Boulet and Dumont.
After already providing two assists, Richard then hit the target in turn and broke the back of the Rocket.
