In a press release published on Thursday, the Fédération Internationale de Football Association unveiled the list of referees selected to officiate during the 2022 World Cup, which will be organized in Qatar from November 21 to December 18. We find there the referee of the controversial Algeria-Cameroon (for the dam of the World Cup, won by the Lions despite the call of the Greens), the Gambian Bakary Gassama, and this as main referee.
On the French side, Clément Turpin, who will lead the Champions League final on May 28 between Ream Madrid and Liverpool at the Stade de France, is also present, as well as Stéphanie Frappart. She is one of the three central female referees summoned for the occasion, along with the Rwandan Salima Mukansanga and the Japanese Yoshimi Yamashita. Among the assistants (field and video), other tricolors are present: Jérôme Brisard, Nicolas Danos, Benoît Millot and Cyril Gringore, awarded the UNFP trophies as the best assistant referee in Ligue 1 for the 2021/2022 season.
