An incredible success for the Spaniard Ana Pelaez. A nightmare for Agathe Sauzon…

Invited by the organization of the Madrid Ladies Open, Ana Pelaez, 24, achieved the feat of winning with a total score of -23 (265), six strokes ahead of Sweden’s Linnea Strom. Only second after 54 holes and in position to clinch her first victory on the Ladies European Tour (LET), Agathe Sauzon cracked in the last part, signing a terrible 76 (+4). The Frenchwoman finished 13th at -10 (278).

A very beautiful story has just been written this Sunday in the northern suburbs of Madrid on the Jarama-RACE Golf Clubhost of this Madrid Ladies Open 2022. Benefiting from an invitation from the organization, Ana Pelaez24, simply won her first tournament as a professional on the Ladies European Tour (LET).

A well-deserved victory as the Andalusian mastered almost from start to finish the four laps of this event marking the great return of the LET to the Old Continent. After taking the lead on Saturday thanks to a whopping 63 (-9) error-freecourse record please, she confirmed this Sunday by posting a no less very solid 66 (-6), again devoid of the slightest deletion.

In 72 holes, it has thus conceded only three bogeys (during the first round completed in 69) to slam at the same time two eagles and twenty-two birdies. All in front of all her family and closest friends… Her total score of -23 (265) leaves the Swede Linnea Strom, 64 (-8) today, six points behind. The Slovenian Pia Babnikthe Belgian Manon Roythe American Gabriella Then and the young Madrid amateur, Cayetana Fernandezcomplete the podium at -15 (273).

A cruel Sunday for Agathe Sauzon

Second after a superb Moving Day without bogey (65) and three lengths behind Ana Pelaez, Agathe Sauzon on the other hand lived a real nightmare, signing a terrible 76 (+4) weighted by five bogeys against only a birdie. The Valentinoise, summoned in the last game and in search of a first success on the LET, is even the only one to return a card above par within the top 15. She finishes 13th at -10 (278).

Maylis Lamoure70 (-2) in this last lap, grabbed 25th place at -5 (283) ahead Anne-Lise Caudal (38th at -2) and Emie Peronnin (60th to +6).
