The stands of the Caja Mágica have vibrated this Sunday with Carlos Alcaraz and his brilliant triumph at the Mutua Madrid Open, where he has established himself as one of the greats of current tennis. The venue was packed to witness how the young man from Murcia, just turned 19, was doing his second Masters 1000. Among the public there were many familiar faces, especially in the boxes or rooms marked with the characteristic red geraniums of this championship.
In one of them several fashion actors and athletes conversed. And, among them, a Gipuzkoan: the surfer from Zaragoza Aritz Aranburu. The friendship that unites him with the actor Miguel Bernardeau, with whom he has caught waves more than once, is well known. In fact, they starred together in a documentary in Lanzarote and the protagonist of ‘Elite’ has visited Gipuzkoa several times and has arranged to meet Aranburu to surf. This was the case at the last San Sebastian Film Festival, which was not wasted to visit the Wavegarden facilities in Aizarnazabal.
Bernardeau was accompanied by his girlfriend, the singer Aitana Ocaña, who has also taken her first steps on the stage. The couple chose a rural house in Aia last year to enjoy a few days off in the middle of the tour of the former Operación Triunfo contestant, who was a great success at her concert in Donostia.

In addition to Bernardeau, Aitana and Aranburu, the match between Alcaraz and Zverev was followed in the same box by the actress Macarena García, Miguel Ángel Silvestre and Jaime Lorente, who also has a Gipuzkoan connection. His partner, Marta Goenaga, whom he met during the filming of ‘La casa de papel’, is from Gipuzkoa and their daughter, Amaia, was born in Donostia last November.
In the passenger compartment there were also outstanding athletes. Some retired, like the soccer player Luis Figo and the cyclist Alberto Contador, and others active, like the brothers Marc and Alex Márquez.
Precisely, during the trophy ceremony in the final, the cameras captured how Luis Figo asked actor Miguel Ángel Silvestre for a photo, an anecdote that has been much commented on.
