Prior to the event, the high school students carried out an awareness-raising action in middle school classes, in order to explain to their classmates the causes of hunger in certain countries… This year, they focused on the Côte d ‘Ivory. “They looked for partners likely to sponsor the race in the form of pledges at the rate of one euro for each lap of the stadium made by the students. We have limited the number of spins to 10 and the amount raised will not be known until mid-June. The students have invested a lot in the installation of the stadium “, adds Bénédicte Bravo.
This sporting, civic and solidarity day is also intended to be festive. “It allows students to take another look at altruism, sharing, solidarity by raising money to help people who suffer from malnutrition, but it is also an opportunity for them to get involved in a different way. This race contributes to creating a good school climate. The fact that the teachers mingle with the students for this race allows everyone to appreciate each other other than in the usual context. “, specifies the principal, who was delighted in the afternoon to see the initiatives and the creative ideas of all the pupils who proposed games stands, rope challenges, discovery of archery, country dancing, upheaval, bowling, make-up, introduction to first aid….
The day ended with a snack in the presence of the many partners who provide their support throughout the year, in particular the gendarmes, the firefighters, the company which provides transport for the students by coach, the association Peep…
