The 5th Gabriele Sacchi Memorial, “Contrada’s baseball for kids”, is scheduled for Wednesday 4 May, from 5.30 pm onwards.
The initiative, included in the program of the celebrations of the Titular Festival, with which the Nobile Contrada dell’Oca, with the technical collaboration of the Siena Baseball Club, wants to remember, at the Fonti di Fontebranda, in its district, Gabriele Sacchi, a passionate contradaiolo, baseball referee and father of Miguel Sacchi, now pitcher in Serie B with the Grosseto Boars. Sacchi passed away in February 2015, leaving a deep void between the friends of his Contrada and baseball fans.
That of 2022 will be the first occasion in which Jesus Barroso Gutierrez, the Cuban coach currently at the helm of the Siena Baseball Club, who returned to Siena in 2021 (when the Goose initiative did not take place, due to a pandemic), will also participate in the Memorial, fraternal friend of Gabriel and his family.
