After a successful start to the season with three victories in four encounters, the Wiler judo team is also convincing with its first home appearance after more than 2.5 years. The first opponent from Regensdorf was clearly defeated with 8:2. Simon van Rekum, Levin Bräu and Fabrice Junker in particular shone with beautiful throws, which prematurely ended the fights with the maximum rating Ippon. The Mülimatt Penguins from Brugg are the farm team of the multiple Swiss champion Brugg and are each staffed with young talents and experienced fighters. Naahum Schönenberger, Chris Goebel and Fabrice Junker were not impressed by this and very convincingly scored the necessary points for the team victory. This means that the Wiler team already has five wins after three doubles rounds and is right at the top of the table. Also in action were Wil Jan Durrer, Eric Wenger and Dominic Menzi.

Top performances by the Wil/Toggenburg U21 team in the Eastern Switzerland team championship

With a clear victory, a draw and a narrow defeat, the Wiler team, reinforced by a fighter from BC Toggenburg, made the preliminary round in Wil appealing. After a balanced duel against JC Wetzikon (6:6) with three clear individual wins each, a convincing 8:4 win against JC Uster followed and finally an extremely unfortunate defeat against JC Nippon St.Gallen (6:6/27 :30). In the last fight of the day, a roll over the head and neck was considered self-endangering by the judges and punished with a disqualification. Working for Wil/Toggenburg were: Naahum Schönenberger, Paul Strässle, Jan Durrer, Miguel Ryser, Sean Knellwolf and Levin Bänninger.

The extension of the quality label Sport-verein-t for a further three years is also pleasing. This label of the IG of the St.Gallen sports associations continues to recognize the commitment and responsible behavior of the BSC Arashi Yama Wil, among other things in the areas of sustainability, integration, solidarity and prevention.
