With the tailwind of the away win the week before and with great anticipation for the first home fight without spectator restrictions in three years, the women of JSV Speyer are looking forward to their home premiere in the current Bundesliga season of the 1st Bundesliga for women. On Saturday, the Speyer women will play against BC Karlsruhe on the third day of the fight at 6:00 p.m. in their home Judomaxx. “We’re really looking forward to finally having a home fight again with lots of spectators, and then celebrating with the men’s team in the evening. It will be very nice to have this normality again after such a long time and also to show the newcomers what it means to fight at JSV Speyer and what a great community we have here,” says team boss Barbara Bandel.
In terms of sport, the JSV can look forward to the fight with a good feeling, even if the second division fighters cannot help out this time – they have a fighting day at SG Eltmann on Saturday, where they meet the host and TSV Altenfurt. “It looks good from the team line-up. Unlike last week, we can fill any weight class. Some of the newcomers are also there, and we probably have three foreigners available. We definitely want to record a win and I’m quite optimistic that we’ll succeed,” said the Speyer team manager.
At 5:00 p.m. the second match of the first women’s league takes place in the Dieter-Renz-Sporthalle in Bottrop between the runners-up JC 66 Bottrop and the German champions and leaders TSG Backnang.
In the southern group of the men’s 1st Bundesliga, the defending champion TSV Abensberg welcomes TSG Backnang on the fifth day of the fight at 5:00 p.m. on Aumühlstrasse in Abensberg. Table leader JSV Speyer is fighting away at 6 p.m. at KSV Esslingen (Auenweg in Esslingen). The other encounters: 1. JC Samurai Offenbach against JC Rüsselsheim (sports hall vocational school Buch Hügel Offenbach; 5:00 p.m.), TV 1848 Erlangen against 1. JT Heidelberg Mannheim (Jahnturnhalle Erlangen; 5:30 p.m.), VfL Sindelfingen against JC Leipzig (Unterrieden Sindelfingen; 6 p.m.).
