Castillo and Pérez to the second round of the Caribbean Tennis Cup

SANTO DOMINGO.- Dominicans Adrián Castillo and Álvaro Pérez advanced to the second round of the Santo Domingo J3 Caribbean Cup, which is being held until Saturday at Parque del Este, where players from 20 countries take part.

This Monday, Castillo defeated the Frenchman Vincent Longuet 6-0 6-1, while Pérez took the Indian Mukkesh Sabaresh Vijay Shankar, with straight sets 6-0 6-0.

Starting at nine in the morning on Tuesday, five Dominicans will take to the ring in singles, while in doubles seven matches will be played in which at least one local will be on the court, after 11:30 in the morning.

In singles, Alberto Puello vs. Atakan Karahan (TUR); Daniel Baquero vs. Bill Chan (SGP); Pedwar Castillo against David Krasner (USA); Anna Maria Fedotova [6] will collide with María Luisa Oliveira (BRA). Finally, Carolina Chiatti will come out to give the lining against the favorite and champion of the Trinitarian Cup, the Polish Olivia Lincer.

After 11:30 in the morning, Alberto Puello and Lachlan Dickinson (USA) play in doubles against the Americans Rohan Belday and Paris Pouatcha. The Trinitarian Cup Doubles Champions, Creole Daniel Baquero and Roy Keegan from Great Britain, against the duo of Rafael Botran Neutze (GUA) and Mason Dace (GBR).

Three criollos play in doubles in the same match, the brothers Javier and Jorge Urgal go against their countryman Pedwar Castillo and Mukkesh Sabaresh Vijay Shankar (IND).

Maria Gell and Nehanda Thomias (FRA) play against Americans Marcela Lopez and Zehra Suko.

Carolina Chiatti and Thamara Frasser Kawaratani (AUS) pair up to face Canadians Addison Yang Comiskey and Emma Dong.

The Dominican duo Rosario Elmúdesi and Alexa Lerebours Brugal meet Gaeul Jang (KOR) and Evelina Vaisberg (RUS).

Lastly, Adrián Castillo and Paul Vega face Álvaro Pérez, also from the Dominican Republic, and Alejandro Américo Rodríguez from Puerto Rico.

The tournament awards 100 points to the winners, 60 to the finalists, while the semifinalists will get 35.

Sergio Tobal is the director of the event and vice president of Fedotenis; Peruvian Julio Cavero is the ITF referee, Francisco De los Santos is the assistant.
