Finally, after more than two years of forced fighting because of Corona, the best of the U 15 age group from North Baden and South Baden were allowed to compete again in this state championship to fight for tickets for the southern Germans. Only the top three in each weight class and one seed from the Baden Judo Association qualify for this highest championship.
Victory after eight seconds
Chantal Lieb got off to a brilliant start in the weight class over 63 kilograms. After just eight seconds in the first fight, she swept Sarah-Bianka Hartkopf from JC Tiengen off the mat with a throwing technique. In the second round against Maja Böttcher from the 1st Angelbacher Judo Club, she didn’t need 30 seconds to emerge as the winner.

In the semifinals that followed against Amina Muslija from the Haltingen Judo School, the TSV player was again in a hurry and once again successfully prevailed with a hold technique. In the final she then met Julia Kleinert from JSC Heidelberg Rhein-Neckar. It was a dogged fight, because both gave nothing. In the end, Lieb had to admit defeat with a counterattack and thus won the silver medal at Baden level for the first time.
It is now to be hoped that the TSV Tauberbischofsheim junior fighter will take the momentum with her to the southern German individual championships, which are taking place in Backnang. jotef
