On the 5th, the 2022 National Badminton Championships by category will kick off at the Cheongsong National Sports Center and play until the 16th.
Thanks to this, in Cheongsong-eup, where the tournament is being held these days, about 1,000 people from overseas, including the tournament officials and players’ families, come and go to and from the stadium, restaurants, and accommodation facilities.
Some of the contestants and players’ families visit famous tourist spots in Cheongsong, such as Juwangsan, Jusanji, and Icegol, on non-match days.
In Cheongsong, various sports events such as the 31st national middle and high school kendo contest during the president period, the 5th national elementary school kendo contest during the military period, and the 2022 Cheongsong apple trail run are scheduled to continue.
An official from Cheongsong-gun said, “I am fortunate to see that the local economy, which has fallen into recession after the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), seems to be reviving with sporting events. I will do my best,” he said.
