On May 24, 2022, a meeting of the Co-financing Commission for the participation of Riga athletes and teams in world, European championships and international competitions was held, at which 4 applications for financial support were considered.
1. The Commission examined the application of the Latvian Association of Sawmillers for the participation of one athlete in the World Sailing Championship in the boat class “Optimist” from June 27 to July 7 in Bodrum, Turkey. Funding was awarded to the athlete of the sports club “Riga Yacht Club” Rihards Pļaviņš EUR 400. Funding has been provided to cover travel expenses.
2. An application was received from the Billiards Federation of the Republic of Latvia for the participation of three athletes in the European Snooker Championship from June 7 to June 19 in Shengjin, Albania.
The application did not comply with the submission requirements and conditions specified in the Regulations. The application was not examined on its merits.
3. The application of the Latvian Table Hockey Federation for the participation of two athletes in the European Table Hockey Championship from 10 to 12 June in Kranj, Slovenia, has been considered. Funding was awarded to BJC “Laimīte” athletes for the competition Edgaram Caicam and Raivim Sandrim Migleniekam. Each athlete is allocated EUR 136 for accommodation costs in the competition and EUR 150 for travel expenses.
4. Application of the Latvian Lacrosse Federation for the participation of the team of 10 athletes in the World Championship in Lacrosse for women from June 29 to July 9 in the USA.
The application did not comply with the submission requirements specified in the Regulations and was not considered on the merits.
