Cristina Rossi, a nice first place – Sport

A great result for the Cesena Kodokan judo team. In fact, last Sunday in Bibbiano the judo Kodokan Cesena 1966 sent six athletes to the province of Reggio Emilia ready to give their best and win the judo competition. Accompanied by maestro Vladimiro Burioli, member of the national youth commission and Michael Zoffoli, competitive manager of our region with Marco Brandolini seniors (weight kg 46), Samuele Boschetti and Matteo Ferrari (weight kg 100), Andrea Maggiolini (weight kg . 73), Martina Baldassari (weight 48 kg) and finally Cristina Rossi (weight 52 kg).

This national competitive event was organized by the “Uchi Oroshi” club from Bibbiano. After two years of lockdown, this first race really brought great satisfaction to our athletes who all had a great desire to restart.

After the weight, the fights began. The first to start on the field was Martina Baldassari who this time got on the podium and won a third place. Samuele Boschetti and Matteo Ferrari got on the tatami and played for second place. Matteo attacked first and shortly after he blocked his opponent on the ground, winning the match and finishing in second place, while Samuele Boschetti had to settle for third place.

Then it was the turn of Andrea Maggiolini who went very well but in the semifinals he had to settle for a well-deserved third place. Then Marco Brandolini and Cristina Rossi fought simultaneously on two tatami mats. Marco who weighs very little, faced a much more powerful rival than him and finished second. The exploit was instead of Cristina Rossi who won a prestigious first place. Also this time the athletes of the Judo Kodokan Cesena 1966, have brought home many medals. In the end, the mayor of Bibbiano highlighted the educational value of these initiatives, thanking the athletes and all the clubs.
