Evelin Díaz Biasizzo won a gold medal in the karate test

In karate, in the women’s branch +59 kg, Cordoba’s Evelin Díaz Biasizzo became South American Youth Champion and won the gold medal. In the final, she defeated Ecuadorian Jahaira Manrique García 1-0, in a very close fight.

In the elimination round, they beat the Panamanian Alejandra Otero and the Bolivian Carla Dorado 3-0 and tied without points against the Ecuadorian Jahaira García. In the Semifinal, she beat Chilean Danae Guerra 4-0.

In the men’s category +68 kg, in the elimination round, for group A, Francisco Salsench defeated Bolivian Anthony Leyton 4-1, while he lost 1-1 to Uruguayan Tomás Dotta, 3-0 to Colombian Santiago Ospina and 3-1 against Ecuadorian Yael Ordoñez. He failed to advance to the semis.
