■ About “Tyrrell Winston x Reebok” Question Mid & Club C
In this collection, Tyrell Winston’s love for basketball, known for his works using “bulging basketball” and “broken net”, has been incorporated into the design. For the base model, we have adopted two of Reebok’s representative basketball shoes, “Question Mid” and Reebok’s “back classic shoes” “Club C”. Pony hair parts on the heel tabs, “Club C” tongue and insole, “Question Mid” insole, and Tyrell Winston’s New York Yankees-inspired logo, “New York Yankees Doodle”. ..
■ Short film content “The Journey”
To commemorate this collaboration, we are releasing the short film content “The Journey” produced by Winston and creative director Drew Villani. This work consists of two stories exploring different worldviews of “traditional journey” and “modern journey”. During the film, “Question MID” was shot on a “horse” ranch, which is said to hold the key to many social structures. On the other hand, “CLUB C” was shot on a “iron horse” on the Staten Island Ferry, which Winston used on a daily basis in pursuit of his dreams. The story is inspired by “a racehorse that keeps running just forward without worrying about the surroundings.”
■ About Tyrell Winston
Tyrell Winston is an artist famous for his assemblage pieces of old basketball arranged in a grid. When he moved to New York to study arts management at Wagner College on Staten Island, he began making collages using the scraps he found in the city. He also collects trash such as old basketball and cigarette butts, which are now the basis of his mixed media work. Winston, who has a lot of fans on social media, also creates self-supporting sculptures, wall hangings that reuse basketball nets, and paintings depicting the signatures of famous athletes. All of his work serves to re-introduce the story to what others have abandoned.
