Before the game’s release on June 10, Nintendo has just unveiled a gameplay trailer: commentator, tackles, special moves… It’s all there.
In more than 30 years of experience, Mario has known many adventures. When he’s not rescuing Princess Peach, the notorious mustachioed plumber enjoys various activities, such as running (Mario Kart) or platform combat (Smash Bros.). Proof of his immense popularity, he even had a successful career in the world of sport, as evidenced by the sagas Mario Tennis, Mario Golf or even Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games.
Special moves that promise crazy games
Proof that he seems to master all sports, Luigi’s friend has also tried football. After Mario Smash Football on GameCube and Mario Strikers Charged Football on Wii, a third opus is about to be released, this time on Nintendo Switch. Entitled Mario Strikers Battle League Football, this opus is expected on June 10 on Nintendo Switch. 15 years after the episode on Wii, the colorful world of Mario and his friends will once again take to the lawns, for ever crazier games. From what we know, the teams will consist of four players and a goalkeeper. Unlike the two previous opuses, it is the Koopa Boom Boom which will ensure the protection of the teams’ cages.
And to score goals, gamers can call on 10 field players: Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Peach, Harmony, Toad, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Wario and Waluigi. Less than a month before the international release of the title, Nintendo has decided to spend the second, by unveiling a new gameplay video. Lasting seven minutes, it allows us to see what the matches will look like, with the objects to pick up, the super-strikes or the electrified edges on which it will be possible to send your opponents.
fun version of the series FIFA (which will indeed change its name), this new opus will also be able to count on the presence of a TV commentator, Xavier Domergue, whom football fans can find on M6. As a reminder, the Nintendo title will plunge us back into the world of Strike, namely five-on-five matches in which players can use different strategies to score and win. Just like in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (which will host new circuits until 2023), it will be possible to throw objects such as bananas or shells on the ground to hinder opponents.
Football requires, the tackles will also send the rivals waltzing in a setting that will electrocute them. And since the most important thing is victory, this new episode will also see the presence of the Hyper Strike, a sort of ultimate blow that will bring in more goals. As in any good fighting game, each character has his own special ability: if Luigi can for example create a tornado, Peach can charm his opponents and Waluigi imprison them in roots.
