The season begins under the best auspices at the Château de Fressin. The opening from April 19 has already allowed the reception of several school buses and many visitors in search of the Middle Ages. The children were able to try out the new fun and cultural activities offered on the site of the remains of the 15th century fortress.

The good weather at the time is conducive to the discovery, or rediscovery, of the glorious epic of Jean V de Créquy, owner of the castle, in this troubled period of the 15th century when the wars got the better of the fortified place. The association of the Château, chaired by Christian Duflos, strives over the years, in partnership with the CCHPM, to offer the public a range of activities and shows renewed from April to the end of September. Admittedly, the pandemic put the place in lethargy for some time, but 2022 now offers some nice surprises to its visitors.
Activities
The circuit of the remains is done by means of a guided or narrated visit. Children can now join the training camp and transform themselves, for a time, into a little knight: archery, jousting and balance games are reserved for them. The treasure hunt, in the most secret places of the castle, is also one of the favorite activities of young people.
transhumance
For the day or half-day, it is possible to walk with the goats of the Planquette goat farm, to attend the milking accompanied by a gourmet tasting of the cheese produced on site. Participants reach the bottom of the remains via a 1 km route.
A show
On June 25, during the medieval spring, a day under the theme of “Castle Life” will take place on site with many events and activities on life in the Middle Ages: blacksmiths, traders, clothing stalls and other stalls will take place in the heights of the building. “Les Folles Nuits du monde”, the pyrotechnic show revives the years before Covid, but over two days (a novelty), Friday August 5 and Saturday August 6 with a capacity limited to 1,000 people registered by reservation. The grandiose fireworks and the concerts of the musical group “A mi-chemin” will undoubtedly be unanimously acclaimed that evening.
Open: every afternoon, except Monday, from 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Information on 03 21 86 56 11, www.chateaudefressin.fr
