JL Bourg formalizes the signing of Frédéric Fauthoux

JL Bourg has formalized the signing of Frédéric Fauthoux (49) as coach for the next two seasons. Close to François Lamy, his former agent who recently became a consultant at the Game, the Landes technician had been announced on the spot for several months already. The Bressan club may have denied the information via Le Progrès, the arrival of the native of Saint-Sever was no longer in doubt.

“I was sensitive to the great interest that Bourg showed me, on the part of Julien Desbottes and Frédéric Sarre, whom I have known for a long time, commented Frédéric Fauthoux. I also know François Lamy very well, who told me about the club in a good way. I wanted to find a bench and I wanted to find a place as head coach. When I discuss with the leaders of Bourg, I have the impression that we have common values, human values which correspond to me enormously, I am very attached to them. I need real human relations, I find that Bourg has these same values and that made my choice easier. »

After coaching Levallois from 2015 to 2020, including a playoff semi-final in 2017, Frédéric Fauthoux left the Metropolitans 92 two years ago to join ASVEL and become TJ Parker’s “associate coach” there. But his role was limited to that of an assistant. He will finally find a position as head coach, hoping to revive a sporting JL Bourg which is coming out of a very difficult season under the orders of Laurent Legname, coach dismissed at the end of the 2021-2022 financial year. First, he will work to build a competitive workforce, along with Frédéric Sarre (director of sports development), his former coach at Elan Béarnais, and François Lamy.

Already six JFL under contract

The former French international already has five locally trained players under contract. He will be able to rely on Pierre Pelos (photo above), whom he has already trained at Pau Nord-Est, but also captain Maxime Courby, leaders Axel Julien and Hugo Benitez, his former Levallois player Maxime Roos , the latter being under contract until 2023, but also Alexandre Chassang, although he does not have an option to leave this summer.
