Lac du Der: Moovoder, already more than 15,000 visitors

EVENT. Moovoder, the big event for the launch of the tourist season at Lac du Der, continues until this evening. This Saturday, May 21, more than 15,000 visitors were able to discover the full range of activities available on the site and even a little more.

This weekend, the Lac du Der is celebrating, with Moovoder, the big event to launch the tourist season. This Saturday, May 21, the public was very numerous to have responded to the meeting on the shores of the second largest artificial lake in Europe (48 km2): more than 15,000 people were counted on the nautical station, according to the Tourist Office. Nearly 60 activities were offered at the various sites. Almost all are renewed this Sunday.

All the clubs and associations that gravitate around the Der were there to make their specialties known. Objective: to present the full range of activities available on the site. And they are very numerous on land or on water: jet ski, canoe, pedal boat, bicycle, diving, electric scooters, paddle, boat trips, towed buoys and even surfing, to name but a few. The children also had a lot to do: kite flying, archery, climbing, etc.

Longship races

Curiosity of the day: the Dragon Boat races attracted people to the footbridge of the Rougemer peninsula, from where there was an unobstructed view of the competition. The participants, who come from all over the country, compete for the national selection of the French championships. This activity, practiced by the Pagaie wasseyenne, is a 500-meter speed race between several boats that look like drakkars, with a dragon’s mouth at the bow and a drum at the front to set the pace. to the ship’s ten paddlers. Impressive. Competition continues today from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The pedal boats and canoes, which can be boarded, were also very popular, especially since the good weather was there.

On the other side of the footbridge, on the Champaubert peninsula, the Braucourt sailing school offered catamaran outings. Let’s hope that the wind will be a little more present this Sunday to allow the boats to get out. The school also has model radio-controlled sailboats. Ideal when you don’t have sea legs but still want to have a little fun.

There were also things to do at the port of Nuisement. The nautical circle of friends of Der offers trips on the sailboats of club members. A first. The latter take pleasure in sharing their passion with visitors during an outing of about an hour.

In short, impossible to list here all the possibilities offered to the public until this evening. The organizers hope that even more visitors will come this Sunday to take part in this event, which, as Marion Chedoz, president of the Lac du Der Tourist Office, pointed out, will “repeat every year. and grow in power.”
