Judo Avilés organized the third day of the Liga Avilesina and shone in the Northern League and in the national university

Intense and productive weekend experienced by Avilés Judo, with up to three open fronts in which fun, training and also the achievement of sporting successes came together. The Los Canapés sports center hosted the third day of the Liga Avilesina, which filled the tatami and left a tight classification in the fight for medals at the end of the course.

Winners by category Nora Peña, Lía Fernández, Unay Alcón, Covadonga González, Mateo Suárez, Kai Rodríguez, Maxi Díez, Diego Menéndez, Gael Lambas, Víctor Fernández, Sergio Balboa, Martín Pérez, Naiara Serrano, Alonso Arto, Hugo Viña, Mauro Gallego, Anxo Regueiro, Carlos Alfredo Linares, Noé Rodríguez, Hugo Nemiña and Saúl Valdés.

The second day of the Northern League began to make it clear who will be in the fight for victory and who will drop out of the competition. More than 300 judokas gathered at the Canide (Mera) sports center in A Coruña, a competition in which Judo Club Avilés participated with three teams; two fingerlings and one baby.

The youngest team barely found rivals on the tatami and won four of the five matches, giving up only one draw with UDC Leonés. The results imply that the Avilesian team will fight on the last day for the title of the Northern League, just like the Alevín A.

The weekend ended in the best possible way with new metals for the club’s judokas. The appointment, on this occasion, was the Spanish University Championship held in Murcia with two representatives: Adrián González in the +100 kilos category and Elisa Fernández in -63.

In the case of Adrián González, he was proclaimed the new runner-up in Spain after winning two league matches and losing in another, all despite the “nerves” typical of a Spanish Championship. For her part, Elisa got the bronze, although with a bittersweet feeling, because the Avilesian has pointed out that she could have gotten into the final and even “it was affordable to win the championship.”
