Miguel Cabrera’s career

At 39 years old, Cabrera has one of the most outstanding careers for a Venezuelan in the MLB. He has participated in 11 All-Star Games, in addition to being the Player of the Year in 2012 and 2013 and obtaining the Hank Aaron Awards and the Silver Slugger.

In 2012 he won the Triple Crown, for simultaneously leading the statistics for hits, home runs and average (batting average). An achievement not seen in the American League since Carl Yastrzemski in 1967.

Cabrera is close to becoming the second player with more than 500 home runs, 600 doubles and 3,000 hits and also average more than .300 at bat. Only Hank Aaron has these records.

Until now, the only Venezuelan who has entered the United States Hall of Fame has been Luis Aparicio, in 1984. A temple that has eluded many Latin players, including legends such as David Concepción, Omar Vizquel or Bob Abreu . However, with the statistics he handles and the records he has set on the field, Miguel Cabrera’s name may one day grace the halls of the Cooperstown museum.
