MLB: Abraham Toro sustains left shoulder injury

Seattle Mariners third baseman Abraham Toro left Saturday’s game against the Boston Red Sox.

The team said after the game that Toro suffered a sprained left shoulder. His name could be added to the injured list in the coming hours.

In his absence, it was Dylan Moore who brought himself to the batting order of the Mariners.

Heading into the game against the Sox, Toro was batting .174 with five cirquits and 13 RBIs.

He was acquired from the Houston Astros late in the 2021 season.

The Mariners signed veteran Justin Upton for the season. He was released by the Los Angeles Angels on April 8.

The 34-year-old had a .211 batting average with 17 home runs and 41 RBIs in 89 games last season with the Angels.

He might be able to make his debut with the team within three to four weeks.
