After having arithmetically winning the passage to the Poule Scudetto, the Parma Baseball is pleased to announce that he has concluded an agreement for the second phase of the championship with the Dominican pitcher Email Montilla.
The left-handed Montilla (192 centimeters by 115 kilograms) was born in Neiba (Dominican Republic) on 2 October 1995 and has experience in the Japanese, Dominican and Nicaraguan championships.
In 2019 and 2020 he played in the Japan Western League and the Japan Central League with the Hiroshima Carp team and also collected two attendance tokens in the Japanese major league.
In 2019 and 2020 he also took part in the Dominican Winter League with the Toros del Este.
During the last winter he played with the Gigantes de Rivas in the Liga Baseball Profesional of Nicaragua. Despite the Gigantes’ defeat in the seventh final match against the Leones de Leon, Montilla made a big splash by closing the series for the title with a pgl average of 1.17 in 7.1 rounds. During the regular season he scored three wins and collected three defeats, closing the championship with an average pgl of 4.14 and with 51 strikeouts in the 50 shots played on the mound.
His name was suggested by compatriot Carlos Contreras, this year under the Parma Climate: the scouts have confirmed the qualities describing him as a starting pitcher still intact with a fast ball that reaches peaks of 94/95 miles per hour.
Montilla will be in Parma next week to perfect his preparation while awaiting his debut in the Poule Scudetto.
