Mrs. Van Veldhuizen from Velp 100 years! Congratulations!

VELP – On Thursday, May 19, 2022, Mayor Carol van Eert paid a visit to Mrs Van Veldhuizen-Van Harten, in Velp, at 2 p.m., on the occasion of her 100ste birthday.

Mrs. Antje van Veldhuizen-Van Harten (nickname An) was born on May 19, 1922 in Raalte. Mrs. Van Veldhuizen worked for the municipality of Hellendoorn and an insurance company in Groningen. The war years were exciting. Mrs. Van Veldhuizen was imprisoned in Arnhem because the Germans were looking for her boyfriend Kim. He was a resistance fighter with the pseudonym ‘Black Henk‘ and later became a police commissioner in Rheden.

After the war, in August 1945, they married. Mrs. Van Veldhuizen looked after the children and did a lot of voluntary work. Five children have emerged from the marriage. There are 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. In the past, Mrs. Van Veldhuizen liked to play tennis, badminton and folk dances.

Nowadays she enjoys reading, watching TV, surfing the internet and solving cryptograms. At 100 years old, her health is quite good.
