Naomi Osaka has withdrawn from the WTA 1000 in Rome. The Japanese, 38th in the world, is affected in the left Achilles tendon.
“The injury suffered last week in Madrid is still not healed. It touches the Achilles tendon so I have to be very careful, especially in view of Roland-Garros. I love Rome and have always enjoyed playing in front of Italian fans and I’m sorry for this missed opportunity. But I hope to be back next year”said the player who was knocked out in the second round in Madrid last week.
