No luck in the European Cup in Malaga

During the weekend three activities were held in which the different teams of the Judo Club Ibón de Huesca have participated. On the one hand, the elders of the club moved to Malaga, the Andalusian town that once again celebrated the Spanish European Cup, which brought together more than three hundred junior category judokas from twenty-nine countries.

On Thursday the juniors from Huesca traveled Lorien Giménez, Raquel Miret and Javier García, with his coach Raúl Poblador in front. They had as rivals respectively a Dutch, a Finnish and a German. Although at first it seemed that they dominated the fights, scoring, in the last seconds the fights turned against them, losing all three. The lack of experience in meetings of these characteristics takes its toll on newcomers to the category.

Sunday was the opportunity to Alba Ramirez, she being part of the Spanish team, but he had no better luck than his club mates and fell against the Romanian representative without the possibility of a repechage.

and in the Malaga junior tournament also participated Alejandra Pérez, of the Binéfar Judo Club, in his first international experience. She fell in the first round against the French Nawel Abdelkrim, a competitor who reached the semifinals, which repechaged the binefarian judoka, who faced the Kazakh Arizhan Yerezhepova in the first round of repechage. Great competition for Alejandra, taking into account the level of this event that corresponds to the international circuit and whose level has been raised with the participation of the Japanese team.

Besides, on Saturday the smallest of the club met, from 3 to 5 years old, to carry out a session and a small championship where at the end they could choose the color of the medal they had won. As a curiosity, bronze was the most chosen.

In addition the youngsters and youngest members of the club gathered at the Ángel Claveras Tournament held in Villanueva de Gállego, meeting organized by the Judo Club Zaragoza and in which the Ibón judokas participate with special affection, since Ángel Claveras, 8th Dan, was the founding teacher and trainer of Club Ibón and directed it for more than two decades until he retired, but he is still the voice that guides and protects Ibón and its young coaches Raul Poblador and Maria Poblador as a very important member of the Huesca entity. It was a great event with many fights and more gifts.
