Pablo Abian and Cristina Teruel They have been proclaimed champions of Spain in badminton, in the tournament held at the Francisco Fernández Ochoa sports center in Madrid, by beating Enrique Peñalver and Laura Santos, respectively.
The one from Calatayud defeated Peñalver 21-19 and 21-16, in 52 minutes of the match, achieving his fifteenth individual Spanish championship. Abián, who will turn 37 in June, has starred in a new display of his dominance. The bilbilitano was eliminating opponents until the final: finished with Javier González in half an hour; the same thing that he repeated with Carlos Iglesias in 31 minutes; the name of Carlos Piris corresponds to that of his rival in the quarterfinals, in a time of one hour and 6 minutes; and, finally, in the semifinals he managed to win a place in the final against Alejandro Alcalá in 36 minutes.
