In our tour of the Tarn-et-Garonne gites, let’s stop at Orgueil at Hélène and Marie-Laure. A destination that has a wine tourism label.
It is in Orgueil on the road to Planques in an old wood that we find the gîte “In the shade of the oaks”. After finding a wooded lot in the year 2000, the Henrich family of Alsatian origin but who lived in Fronton decided to build housing to set up gîtes there.
The family had the idea following a retraining of Hélène, daughter of the family. Namely to offer a quiet place in the middle of the woods with various activities. Thinking of families with children by offering them: the swimming pool (also for adults), various games, animals, archery etc.
Fronton wines in the spotlight
So much so that we find three independent lodgings there named: Tourterelle, Bergeronnette, La Tour. As well as two guest rooms located in another annex where Marie Laure will serve you the evening meal and breakfast. There is no lack of activities in the surrounding area, including visits to the cellars, since the gîte “A l’ombre des oaks” has had the wine tourism label for four years. You will also be offered visits to the Fronton wine house, the local heritage and the surrounding cultural sites.
Short or long stays
The lodges and bed and breakfasts are open all year round. Hélène and Marie Laure mention that the best periods are July and August. However, rentals are free and above all they are not blocked from Saturday to Saturday. Depending on availability, it is possible to book for a weekend or one or more days of the week. Also, an important point: animals are accepted.
