return from minor baseball activities

The Pirates Chevrolet 440 de Laval will collaborate with the Association régionale de baseball amateur de Laval (Baseball Laval) to organize activities and events for young people in the region throughout the summer of 2022.

The Laval organization notably announced the return of the Laval Minor Baseball Evening, which will be held on Friday, June 10 at the Parc Paul-Marcel-Maheu stadium. For the occasion, the Pirates will receive the visit of the Orioles Desjardins of Montreal in a duel of the Quebec Junior Elite Baseball League.

All Laval minor level baseball teams, as well as volunteers, referees and scorekeepers are invited to this evening which represents a
celebration of Laval baseball.

Minor baseball players will also participate in a presentation on the field before the game.

Rather than paying the usual amount, visitors are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items as entry fees. These will then be donated to the Laval Volunteer and Harvest Center.

baseball clinic

The Pirates will also organize a free baseball clinic which will take place on Saturday, June 4 at Paul-Marcel-Maheu Park. This is intended for all players of the Laval minor baseball associations in divisions 9U to 18U.

Many workshops will be held to perfect the different aspects of the game. This activity is presented fairly early in the season to allow young people to have the opportunity to put into practice the advice they have received.

9U and 11U divisions will be able to participate in this clinic from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., while 13U, 15U/16UF and 18U/21UF divisions are invited to report to the field between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Partnership

Furthermore, the Laval Associates and the Pirates hope to be able to materialize the partnership announced last year, which aims to improve and develop elite baseball in Laval.

This alliance between the two organizations should allow the pooling of each other’s efforts to support the young people of the AA class of the 11U divisions,
13U, 15U and 18U in their development and improvement of their skills.

The ultimate objective of this collaboration is the development of Laval’s elite level players. It is in this spirit that the Partners will hold their opening day of the 2022 season on May 14 at the Parc Paul-Marcel-Maheu stadium.

Note that banners promoting this partnership will be displayed on the grounds of Chénier Park and Paul-Marcel-Maheu Park. (N.P.)
