The Indonesian Futsal National Team came out as runner-up so they won a silver medal. So, which team won the gold and bronze medals?
For the gold medal, Thailand deserves it. This was confirmed after Thailand won 2-0 over host Vietnam at the Ha Nam Gymnasium, Friday (20/5/2022), afternoon WIB.
For that result, Vietnam also came out as a bronze medalist. Uniquely, this result is similar to the 2022 AFF Futsal Cup. In that grand event, Thailand came out as champion and the Indonesian Futsal National Team became runner-up, while Vietnam took third place.

Thus, the struggle for the Indonesian Futsal National Team at the 2021 SEA Games has ended. Despite failing to win gold, this silver medal deserves appreciation.
Because, this is the best achievement of the Indonesian Futsal National Team so far in the SEA Games. It should be noted that when appearing in the 2007 2011 and 2013 editions of the SEA Games, the Indonesian Futsal National Team only won a bronze medal. The achievement of the Indonesian Futsal National Team received praise from the Deputy General Chairperson (Waketum) of the Indonesian Futsal Federation (FFI), Syafril Nasution.
“This is an extraordinary achievement from our Men’s National Team. After successfully becoming the runner-up for AFF Futsal, now he is again showing his achievement in getting silver at the Vietnam SEA Games,” said Syafril to MNC Portal Indonesia.
“Since futsal was included in the 2007 SEA Games, this is the first time it has won silver, although previously it was almost not sent to the SEA Games, but with the efforts of the FFI Chairman, the Futsal National Team can be dispatched,” he explained.
“Indonesian Futsal, which is commanded by Mr. Hary Tanoesoedibjo as the Chairman of FFI, has shown its strength in Asia. The success of futsal cannot be separated from the encouragement of the Head of FFI in advancing futsal in the country,” he explained.
“The success of this national team is certainly the impact of the routine championships or futsal matches that are carried out at the provincial, national level, including the pro league,” he concluded.
