Last year about 800 children participated
The City Council of Santa Marta, through the Department of Family and Children, has launched three camps that will enable families in Santa Marta to reconcile work and family during the summer, the longest non-school time of the year. Sport, active tourism and adventure activities are once again the protagonists of the activities also designed to combat the boredom of the little ones in these months, in addition to maintaining contact with their peers and children their age.
Specifically, the children and young people of the municipality will be able to enjoy three thematic initiatives: the Multisport Camp and Other Leisure Activities, the Multiadventure Camp and the Depordiver Camp.
«Last year nearly 800 children participated in the summer camps, twice as many as the previous year, which is why we believe it is important to continue maintaining these initiatives that work so well in Santa Marta. For us, conciliation is very important, but also that the children remain active and in permanent contact with each other, since they have been out of school for more than two months, ”said the Councilor for Children, Esther Casado.
The first of the projects – the Multisport Camp – will be held from June 24 to September 8 and is aimed at children from 3 to 12 years old who will be able to practice judo, basketball, soccer, foot baseball, ultimate frisbee and other sports; as well as gymkhanas, popular games, crafts and other activities. The camp will take place in the facilities of the Miguel Hernández school where subgroups will be made by age.
A general schedule has been established from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a price of 150 euros per full month, 45 euros per week -in the case of being one or two- and 40 euros per week in the case of being three. In addition, there is the possibility of attending only on June 24 for 12 euros. In the event that several siblings from the same family attend, the second will pay 5% less than the first, there is also the early bird service -from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.- for an additional 1.50 euros, and the service late arrivals until 3:00 p.m., for the same price.

The second of the initiatives – the Multi-adventure Camp – will be held from June 24 to September 8 and is aimed at children from 3 to 12 years old who will be able to enjoy all kinds of sports activities. The camp will take place in the facilities of the San Blas school.
A general schedule has been established from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a price of 150 euros per full month, 45 euros per week -in the case of being one or two- and 40 euros per week in the case of being three. In addition, there is the possibility of attending only on June 24 for 12 euros. Extra hours –from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.- will be paid at 1.50 euros.

The third of the projects designed for the summer holidays – the Depordiver Camp – will be held from June 27 to July 29 and is aimed at children aged 8 to 14 who will be able to enjoy basketball, net sports, soccer, hockey, handball and athletics, as well as active tourism with outings, canoes, paddle surfing, visits to Isla del Soto and archery. There will also be excursions, bike routes, visits to museums and water games. The camp will take place at the Miguel Hernández school facilities.
A single schedule has been established from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with identical prices to the other camps and discounts for those registered. In addition, there will only be one group per week.
