The Asturias Championship concluded at the Real Club Astur de Regatas

Under the direction of the Real Club Astur de Regatas, during the weekend the Asturias Light Sailing Championship was held in Gijón for the classes: Optimist, ILCA 4 and FEVA.

In total, 2 of the 6 scheduled tasks were held, both on Saturday, with a Northeast wind of 6 to 8 knots of intensity and flat seas. On Sunday, although it was tried until the end, the Regatta Committee due to the lack of wind was forced to cancel the day, after 3 hours of waiting in the water.

Gonzalo Jaudenes won the Optimist class, after scoring two second places, the runner-up went to Marta Simal, with a fourth and a first in her locker, the same score was obtained by Álvaro Alonso, who won the first heat and was fourth in the second.

In ILCA 4, the victory went to Mateo Fernández who crossed the two heats in first position, the silver went to Julio Riba, second in the two tests. The third position was obtained by Inés Sánchez with a fourth and a third.

Covadonga Fernández and Carmen Simal, priori favourites, did not disappoint, winning both races and becoming champions of Asturias in the FEVA class. Second were the couple formed by Marta Durán and Carmen Ayuela who finished in second position in both races, third place would go to Marta Suárez and Alfonso Fernández.

On the other hand, on Saturday the Snipes made another two heats of the Spring Trophy. Guillermo Marqués and Jorge Fernández, with a third and a first, consolidate themselves in the first position of the table. Álvaro Alegría and Pedro López-Ferrer, who started the season, won the first race and were second in the closing race. Marco and Matilde Fernández occupied the third position of the day by scoring a second and a fourth.
