The orange shone, it was forceful and it goes with an advantage to Commodore

Deportivo Roca beat the Federation 80-58 at the Gimena Padin sports center to finish 1-0 and travel to Chubut with a double chance to continue in the playoffs.

The Depo thing was very good, especially from the second quarter onwards. The team led by Sebastián García put together an intelligent game, knowing that their scorer Agustín Sánchez was out (cracked in his toe) and the importance of becoming strong in defense, their highest point of the campaign.
After 7 very even initial minutes, the orange began to rule on both boards, ran and the difference was stretched. The Roquenses took the first quarter 27-19, went into the long break up 44-30 and entered the final quarter with a 66-47 win. Until the end of the night there were no surprises.

Roca, who had the debut of Angelo Sasso from Neuquén, once again distributed the scoring very well. Jorge Coronado (23 points and five rebounds) was the top scorer, but very well accompanied by Adolfo García Barros (17 and 9 recoveries), Facundo Troncoso (15 units, with 14 of them scored in the third quarter), Joaquín Cabré (12 points, five rebounds, five assists and three blocks) and Laureano Corominas (11 points, two rebounds, two steals and five blocks).

In the visit, the most outstanding was Carlos Fraga, scorer of the game with 25 points, in addition to taking 5 rebounds.

At the start, the “orange” player gave García Barros (7 in the quarter) and Coronado (11 in the set) a lot of play, but the Chubutans responded with Fraga, Alejo Abadia and a couple of “bombas” from Matías Sosa. The story was tied at 14 with six minutes on the clock.

From there, the Depo began to command, a robbery and dunk by Cabré raised the people and the orange was infected with intensity. A partial 13-5 to take the first segment 27-19.

In the second, Coronado (17 points in the stage) continued to win in the paint, Corominas gave him a great hand on the boards, Cabré scored and defended and García’s team escaped on the scoreboard. The maximum was 14 (38-24 with 3:30 to go) and it was maintained until the end of the first half.

In the third quarter, the Sports Federation tried to react with Fraga, but Depo had many answers. And one of the main ones was Facundo Troncoso. The shooting guard scored 1 point in the first half, but 14 in the third quarter and the “orange” team won calmly and confidence remained very high. The segment closed with a difference of 19: 66-47.

In the final quarter, Roca, already with a lot of rotation, managed to take a 30 advantage against a rival that did not give up, but had no answers on offense. The final buzzer found Depo celebrating a great victory and in the presence of the best audience it had so far in the tournament. Now, the goal will be to find in Comodoro Rivadavia the victory that is missing to continue in the race.
