For better or worse, the microtransactions they came to stay some time ago in the world of video games, being, in fact, one of the main sources of income from various companies that generate millions of dollars from sales of coins, packs or subscriptions like GTA+.
So important are these microtransactions to the big companies in the industry that even their managers have contracts with sales targets in this sense, for example Strauss Zelnick, the president of Take-Two (parent company of Rockstar or 2K, among others) who has renewed his contract as CEO until 2029 with various clauses that will allow you to earn extra money thanks to microtransactions in games like GTA Online, NBA 2K o WWE 2K.
As revealed by the Axios portal, Zelnick could make millions of dollars if the games released by the Take Two studios meet or exceed certain goals with the benefits of micropayments that are contemplated in your new contract (although they have not been revealed), something that is also common in the industry, with juicy bonuses for managers who achieve large video game sales or generate money with other types of actions or income.
GTA 6, the next big project from Rockstar and Take-Two
In addition to annual deliveries of NBA 2K o WWE 2K that we are used to, the next big project of Take-Two through Rockstar is, without a doubt, GTA 6the new installment of sandbox that a few weeks ago confirmed it was under development (breaking a record on Twitter with that ad) and that could be shown during this same 2022.
