This has been announced by the Deputy for Sports, Cristbal Ortega, together with the national wheelchair basketball coordinator of the Spanish Federation of Sports for People with Physical Disabilities (FEDDF), Miguel Ángel García, and representatives of the AMIVEL Reyes Gutirrez club. , during the presentation of some essential days for two of the most ambitious bets of the Diputación de Málaga: to bring high-level sports competitions to the province and favor the practice of adapted sports, Ortega highlighted, who recalled that the Diputación de Málaga launched in 2018 the program Adapted to sport to promote sports practice among people with functional diversity in the province of Malaga through an extensive program of activities.
Sport plays a fundamental role in integration and offers people with disabilities a clear improvement in different aspects such as rehabilitation, promotes autonomy, helps with social integration and drives the desire for personal improvement, said Ortega, who celebrated that the province of Malaga once again host a competition of such a high level as this Copa del Rey for wheelchair basketball.
The eight clubs participating in the cup, from all over the national scene, are Bidaideak Bilbao BSR, CD Ilunion, UCAM Murcia BSR, BSR ACE Gran Canaria, Mideba Extremadura, Iberconsa AMFIV, BSR AMIAB Albacete and AMIVEL Reyes Gutirrez.
On May 21, Vlez-Mlaga will host the Mideba Extremadura-Iberconsa AMFIV and BSR AMIAB Albacete-AMIVEL Reyes Gutirrez matches, and in Malaga the Bidaideak Bilbao BSR-CD Ilunion and the UCAM Murcia BSR-BSR ACE Gran Canaria will take place. The semifinals and the final will be played in Malaga on May 22, and the final will be broadcast on Teledeporte.
