On the occasion of the 156th anniversary of the Heroic Gesta del Tordo, the government of Huejutla reported that it carried out, this past weekend, a series of sports activities, which featured various disciplines such as cycling, basketball, walking and baseball, among others.
In a statement, the city council announced that this past Saturday a 42-kilometer cycling challenge took place, which consisted of a route that began in the Colalambre sports unit and visited various points in the demarcation; At the end, authorities awarded commemorative medals to the participants.
On the other hand, a basketball tournament was held on the esplanade of the municipal auditorium, where multiple teams from the entire Huasteca region met, and which culminated in the victory of the Atlapexco women’s team, while, in the male branch, the first place was taken by the Huasabes team.
On Sunday, the Runner Challenge was held at the El Tordo sports unit, in which the participants ran a distance of 10 kilometers; The winners of the men’s and women’s branches of said test were Omar García, from Atlapexco; and Isabel Hernández, from Huejutla, respectively.
That same day there was also a baseball tournament, with which three teams from the region participated, with the Huejutla team winning 13-6 against Tampico.
