The Montreal Games take place this weekend in Montreal! Organized by Sports Montreal, the event takes place on 15 different sites, three of which will also host “fan zones”. These sites in question are the Claude-Robillard sports complex, the Saint-Laurent sports complex and the Pierre-Charbonneau center.
This is the 45e edition of the biggest sports competition for 6 to 12 year olds! In all, the event brings together around 15,000 young people in the qualifications and 5,000 in competition in 23 sports disciplines. Moreover, something new this year: skateboarding and baseball are entering the disciplines! A very first skateboarding competition will be held at TAZ this Saturday, May 28 and families are invited to attend! It will even be possible to use the facilities for free afterwards.
Families are therefore invited to take advantage of the Montreal Games to discover great family sports. The three fan zones mentioned above will allow parents and children to live different experiences related to the Montreal Games, such as trying sports, streaming Olympic Games athletes’ performances and many other free and accessible to all.
An opening ceremony is taking place today at the Claude-Robillard sports complex and a closing party will be held on Sunday, May 29 at 2 p.m. at the same location. It will be hosted by Michel Kunta, host of the Montreal Canadiens.
It’s a great activity to discover as a family this weekend! You will find more details ici.
