Two golds, two silvers and four bronzes on the second day of the Provincial Circuit

Up to 23 Club participants attended the conference | Irene Barrios and Desiré Espinar, gold in women’s doubles sub-17

This past Saturday, the 21st, the second day of the Provincial Circuit of Córdoba was held, based in the Parque Fidiana neighborhood room in the capital and with a strong heat as the protagonist. The Club attended with 23 participants in sub-17 and absolute-senior.

In a category higher than their age category, our players beat Jara Barrientos-Julia Muñoz (CB La Encina) and Cristina Ramírez-Ángela Moyano (Volante Rute) in their two group matches. This was the only way to access the final, since only the first group pairs passed. In the decisive match for gold, our couple faced an intense match, which they finally won in three sets against María Hinojosa and Margarita Jiménez (Volante Rute).

Podiums for Desiré Espinar in women’s individual sub-17 and Alba Rojas in absolute-senior

Another double of medals for Desiré Espinar, who after eliminating Margarita Jiménez (Volante Rute) and her teammate Carla Giménez, was planted in the semifinals. She there she ran into Ángela Moyano (Volante Rute), who was finally the winner of the day.

Alba Rojas, on the other hand, finished in third position in the absolute-senior women’s individual, a category higher than her own. She fell in the group league against Caty Moreno (CB La Encina) and Elvira Leal (Sierra Morena), fighting until the end in both matches.

Double podium, silver and bronze, in women’s absolute-senior doubles

In a league of five couples, Olimpia García and Marina Marín climbed to the second step of the podium after winning three of the four games, while Susana Camarasalta and Raquel Rodríguez won in two games, which earned them the bronze.

Numerous club participation

In the sub-17 category, the Club also had the participation of Alejandro Soler, Juanma García, Miguel Ángel Rodríguez, Julia Adame and Carla Giménez. They had some wins and also took some sets. Absolutely-senior, Francisco Javier García, Miguel Muñoz, Rafael Rodríguez, José Manuel Rodríguez, Cristóbal Espinar, Rafael Martos, Tomás Mercado, Jesús Salazar, Ismael Espinar, Blanca Bonet and Cristina Moya also enjoyed the day, between victories and defeats, to continue adding and learning. The advances in our athletes, the result of the work in training, are becoming more and more evident.
