Dafne Quintero and Valentina Vázquez participated in the Archery World Cup held in South Korea and will represent Nuevo León at the CONADE 2022 Games in Hermosillo, Sonora.
Dafne Quintero He culminated his participation with two gold medals and one silver as a result of his individual victory in the compound bow modality and collaborated with the men’s compound bow team to obtain the gold medal. She also got a silver in the mixed team event.

“It was a difficult event due to the weather, there was a lot of wind, but we were able to overcome it. We weren’t used to so much, but we adapted and we got the result we expected for UANL”, mentioned who just a week ago was a bronze medalist at the Archery World Cup in South Korea.
The level of the Universiade surprises me. Universities and states are working very hard on archery and that is appreciated. You don’t think that you’re the favorite when playing for the national team, you just think about adapting to win and fortunately that’s what happened”.

the archer Valentina Vazquez Cadena He put his experience to good use and won the gold medal in the recurve bow and silver medal in mixed teams, also contributing to maintaining university success in archery at the Universiade that is played in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua.
“We achieved the goal of putting Tigres in first place and that keeps me happy,” Valentina commented after receiving her medals.
She herself commented that despite being selected it was not easy to win the event given the weather conditions for all the competitors and also the rapid adaptation led them to get ahead in the event.
There is a high level and there are also many participants and that is good because it puts you to the test and coming from a World Cup makes you the favorite, but I try not to put pressure on myself and that helps me to give my best”.
