Four young yzeuriens were in the running in Grenoble for the Aura cadets championship, second division, reserved for judokas not selected for the last French championship.
Rafael Alavoine in -90 kg had a clear day and won gold by winning all his fights by ippon. Mattéo Pastural in -60 kg is credited with an excellent run and finished fifth. They are both qualified for the French second division championship, on May 21, in Ceyrat.
Yanis El Omari and Marie Vallée-Goudouneix failed to qualify, despite good fights.
The next day, the first year cadets competed in the Aura qualifying championship for the national phase. Camille Pierre-Pouviaud in -57 kg finished fifth and qualified. Titouan Delpuech fell short of a qualifying victory.
In seniors, Ewen Boulade was the only Yzeurien representative in -60 kg. Although he was only junior 1, he reached the semi-finals after three very high-level fights, losing with honors to the eventual winner. He finished fifth after losing the fight for bronze, but qualified for the French third division championship on June 5 in Paris.
President Jean-Pierre Fantin was very satisfied: “These medals and qualifications are very encouraging and show the dynamism of our troops”, while giving an appointment this Friday, May 13, at 6:30 p.m., at the Bellevue gymnasium, for the gala with all the young people of the club.
