15 summoned and a guest for the three matches of the June-July Window

The national coach, Sergio Scariolo, has announced the squad list for Spain’s last three matches in the first qualifying phase for the 2023 World Cup, made up of players who have already participated in previous Windows, in a combination of experience and youth.

Those summoned by Scariolo will meet next Monday the 27th in Zaragoza, where they will carry out the first training sessions and will play the first of the matches on Friday, July 1st, against North Macedonia. The National Team will also face Georgia, on Monday, July 4, in Tblisi, and Ukraine, on Thursday, July 7, in Riga. This last match is the one corresponding to the second Window, postponed last February due to the armed conflict.

Mathematically classified and second phase against Italy, Iceland and the Netherlands

In this first phase of qualifying for the 2023 World Cup, Spain is in second position in group G, although with one game less played, and is the only team with a balance without defeats: it has beaten North Macedonia away from home (65 -94) and at home to Georgia (89-61) and Ukraine (88-74). Both Spain and Georgia have mathematically assured their qualification for the second phase, in which they will face Italy, Iceland and the Netherlands, whose first Window will be played in August.
