This Tuesday June 7 starts the countdown of the Pan American Games Santiago 2023. With 500 days to go until the most important sporting event in Chile since 1962 begins, the work of the authorities enters decisive stages. The first big announcement will be with the definition of the venues.
After Friday’s meeting between the Santiago 2023 Corporation and the Panam Sports Monitoring Commission, Neven Ilic confirmed the venues for four disciplines: athletics (Main Coliseum of the National Stadium)rugby seven (Municipal Stadium of La Pintana), surfing (Pichilemu) and rowing (San Pedro de La Paz). The latter cannot be developed Curauma for water problems.
Boxing and wrestling had Estación Mapocho as one of the options, but finally they would be carried out in the future Choose to Live Healthy Center of La Reina. Water polo was changed from the National Aquatic Center to the Naval School, in Valparaíso. In that last region, men’s and women’s football will also be developed.
