Aveyron: where to cool off near the lakes and rivers

While we are expecting almost 40°C in Aveyron at the end of the week, Center Presse is touring the refreshing water points of Aveyron.

From today, Météo France is predicting a very early episode of high heat during which the heat wave thresholds can be reached. In Aveyron, temperatures will rise to 39°C during the heat peak on Friday and Saturday.

Under this blazing sun, finding a little freshness will not hurt. We list the bathing places in Aveyron.

Where to have your feet in the water

Most of the lakes and rivers in Aveyron only offer authorized swimming from July (see box below). But some leisure bases are already accessible or will open from June:

– Les Rives du Lot leisure center in Livinhac-le-Haut : with the possibility of swimming, but also of renting pedal boats, canoes, paddles, an electric boat or bicycles.

– La Gravière leisure center in Saint-Affrique : swimming is supervised from Tuesday to Sunday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The base is equipped with picnic tables, structures for children, ping-pong tables and a soccer field.

– Nautical leisure base of the Val de Lenne lake in Baraqueville (opening Saturday June 18): with the possibility of swimming and sports activities (Optimist, windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, fishing, archery, swin golf, Kin Ball, Tchoukball, Ultimate, Tea, orienteering, Stand up Paddle, molkky, team sports…)

– La Chaussée du Lapin leisure center in Saint-Sernin-sur-Rance (opening June 25): with a swimming pool and water slides, pétanque and volleyball courts, a children’s play area, fishing spots and a refreshment area.

The Aveyron Tourism website also lists the quarantine of swimming pools present in the department, and provides an interactive map to find the closest to you with all the necessary information.

Where to sail on the water without swimming (for now…)

– 2G Nautique – Cable Park at Millau : possibility of doing wakeboarding, water-skiing, kneeboarding and stand-up paddleboarding.

– Afloat on the Aveyron since Compolibat : rental of canoes and pedal boats on the river.

– On the lake of Sarrans in Thérondels: rental of electric boats, canoes and paddles to sail on the lake.

– Nautical base of Anse du Lac in Pont-de-Salars (only by reservation in June): with canoe, kayak, pedal boat, paddle and motorboat rentals.

– The Saint-Geneviève lake in Argence-en-Aubrac (only by reservation in June): with rentals of pedal boats, canoes, kayaks, paddles, and bicycles on the water.

– Aqua’Games at Arvieu (by reservation only in June): with pedalo, canoe and paddleboard rentals. Swimming from July.

– At Lake Saint-Gervais in Saint-Symphorien-de-Thenieres : nautical base with pedal boat, paddle and kayak rentals from 2.30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Swimming from July 1st.

– With the rowing club of Bouillac : to go down the Lot in canoes, pedal boats and paddles.

– On the lake of Castelnau-Lassouts-Lous in Sainte-Eulalie-d’Olt : to sail aboard one of the three electric boats available.

– Commented cruise with Bateau d’Olt in Flagnac : the electric boat cruise crosses the Lot Valley.
