Basketball Bundesliga club EWE Baskets Oldenburg has signed the American Trey Drechsel from the Serbian club Partizan Belgrade. The Lower Saxony announced this on Monday. The 25-year-old was last loaned out to Polish Champions League participant Stal Ostrow Wielkopolski. He can be used as a shooting guard and small forward. Because of this versatility, Drechsel is the player of choice for the new Oldenburg coach Pedro Calles, said sporting director Srdjan Klaric. The Baskets even pay a transfer fee to Partizan Belgrade for their second new signing after the German international Kenneth Ogbe (Brose Bamberg).
