French heavyweight Ciryl Gane will face Australian Tai Tuivasa in the main event of the UFC Paris evening on September 3 at Bercy, the biggest MMA organization announced on Wednesday June 15. As expected, Gane, ranked N.1 heavyweight challenger, will be the headliner of the main event of the event. Beaten for the heavyweight title by the current champion, the Cameroonian Francis Ngannou, last January, the 32-year-old fighter nicknamed “Good kid” became on this occasion the first Frenchman to fight for a UFC belt. Tuivasa, who remains on six victories in a row before the limit, is 29 years old third in the classification of challengers in the category, behind Gane and the American Stipe Miocic, former holder of the belt. The event will be the first organized in France for the largest MMA organization in the world.
