For Tom Skujin, who represents Trek – Segafredo, this will be his fifth start in the race, while Christ Neiland will be part of the Israel – Premier Tech team for the second time.

Last weekend, Skujiņš became the champion of Latvia in an individual race. So far, his highest success in the “Tour de France” has won second place in the 8th stage of 2020. This year, without Skujins, the leading forces in the tour will be Dane Mad Pedersen, US talent Queens Simons, experienced Bauke Mollem and Jaspers Streevens.

Neiland will take part in the Tour de France after a year break. In 2020, he ranked 85th in the overall standings.

The first three stages of the bike ride will take place in Denmark by the end of this week. Of these, the first five will be the plain stages, which will soon be followed by the mountain stage (seventh stage). A series of three mountain stages from stages 10 to 12 will be a serious test, but the decisive battle for the overall ranking is expected in stages 15, 16 and 17.

A total of 21 stages of the bike ride will take place, with the winner determined on July 24.
