Lochemse sports day 2022

LOCHEM – On Friday 3 June it was finally time again: The Lochemse sports day! The annual sports day is organized for the children from Lochem (groups 6 to 8). 272 children from the Rank, Meester G. Propschool, DBS Nettelhorst, de Vennegotte and Prins Hendrikschool took part in the sports day. The sports coaches of the Lochem Welfare Foundation had done a great job again.

The sports day was opened with a warm-up by Leanne from POP-UP. Followed by 12 rounds with different sports components in which the schools had to compete against each other such as: football, badminton, cooperative games, hockey and tjoekbal. Avanti, Badmintonclub Lochem and Sportclub Lochem have provided clinics. The organization was very grateful for that. Also a special thanks to LHC for the hospitality and the use of the fields and the accommodation.

The sports day ended with ‘The Battle of The Schools’. During The Battle of The Schools, the schools compete against each other in a large relay race. And then the prize giving. This school stood out head and shoulders with the most points over the whole day and that was: DBS de Nettelhorst. They took part this year for the first time and then also walked away with the win.

A group of students from the Meester G. Propschool went home with the sportsmanship prize. This group was voted the most sporty group of the day by all volunteers.

AH Lochem thanks for sponsoring the healthy snacks during the break and NIJHA for the sports bags that all students received. It was a successful day full of fun, good weather and lots of exercise.
